Position Overview

As our Animation Director, you will be bringing drawings, models or computer-generated characters and scenes to life on the screen for us. You will be supervising our animation team for the creation of 2D animation, 3D animation and VFX that meets the originality, creative and technical quality standards of our projects.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Use software and other techniques to produce animations.
  • Create expressive animations portraying a wide range of emotions.
  • Guide, supervise and review the work produced by the Animators & VFX artists.
  • Keep track of story and continuity issues within the shot sequence.
  • Partner with the Creative Director, Video Director and Producers to help implement solutions and tools that increase animation quality and performance.
  • Work directly with Animators, Technical Animators and programmers to troubleshoot our proprietary animation tools and pipelines.
  • Manage, mentor and assess technically and artistically a multi-level animators team in creating their key-frame animations and visual effects.
  • Ensure that the final product aligns with the needs of the client and is delivered on time without exceeding the budget.
  • Research industry trends and developments and learning new applications.
  • Create visually powerful shots that depict the mood, motivation and tendencies of characters within the established story world.
  • Motivate and develop the team members and act as a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects.

Skills and Qualification

  • Well-versed in a variety of industry-standard applications, including Cinema 4D, Maya, Motion Builder, Mud box, FBX, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Premiere and After Effects.
  • Excellent language skills.

Experience

  • Experience of 10 or more years in CG animation production for television ads, film, games or visual effects.
