Ajax Creative is seeking multiple innovative and detail-oriented Freelance Look Development Artists to join our talent pool on a per project, on-call contract basis. As a Freelance Look Development Artist, you will be responsible for defining the final appearance of characters, environments, and assets by developing textures, shaders, and lighting setups. You will work closely with the art team, lighting artists, and VFX supervisors to ensure that all visual elements align with the project’s artistic vision and technical requirements.

• Develop and refine textures, shaders, and lighting setups to achieve the desired look.
• Collaborate with the art and VFX teams to ensure visual consistency across all assets.
• Ensure that all look development elements align with the project’s creative direction.
• Test and adjust materials and lighting to achieve photorealistic or stylized results.
• Optimize assets to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
• Stay updated on the latest techniques and tools in look development.
• Manage multiple look development tasks, delivering high-quality results on time.

• Proven experience as a Look Development Artist with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in software such as Maya, Houdini, or Substance Painter.
• Strong understanding of material creation, lighting, and rendering techniques.
• Ability to achieve both photorealistic and stylized looks depending on project needs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects.
• Flexibility to work on a per project, on-call basis with varying timelines.
• Strong communication skills in English for effective collaboration with the team.
