Ajax Creative is seeking multiple talented and creative Freelance Matte Painters to join our talent pool on a per project, on-call contract basis. As a Freelance Matte Painter, you will be responsible for creating realistic and detailed matte paintings that enhance the visual environments of our video projects. You will collaborate closely with VFX artists, directors, and other team members to ensure that each matte painting aligns with the project’s creative vision and technical requirements.

• Create detailed and realistic matte paintings for backgrounds and environments.
• Collaborate with VFX artists and directors to match the project’s visual style and needs.
• Integrate matte paintings seamlessly into live-action footage or CGI scenes.
• Use industry-standard software like Photoshop, Nuke, or similar tools for matte painting.
• Ensure all matte paintings meet the project’s technical and artistic standards.
• Revise and refine matte paintings based on feedback from clients and team members.
• Manage multiple projects, delivering high-quality matte paintings on time.

• Proven experience as a Matte Painter with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in matte painting software such as Photoshop, Nuke, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of perspective, lighting, and color theory.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to create photorealistic or stylized environments.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Flexibility to work on a per project, on-call basis.
• Strong communication skills in English for effective collaboration with the team.
